Dan Elliott is a Warwick homeowner and local business owner / operator. Dan was born in Providence and raised in Warwick along with his younger sister, Melissa (pictured). He graduated from Toll Gate High School, CCRI with an AS in Business, and Johnson & Wales University with a BS in Hospitality Management cum laude. He is currently pursuing his graduate degree at Rhode Island College. Dan worked in the hospitality business for about 10 years before starting his own business, Greenwood Professional Services. He remains focused on new business opportunities. In 2017 Dan was appointed to Harbormaster with the City of Warwick. As the youngest member of this department, Dan looks forward to taking on a more active role in protecting and preserving our environmental resources in Warwick.
Dan is a member of Knights of Columbus and Sons of the American Legion, having two grandfathers who served in World War II. Dan believes we need to do more to help our veterans get the treatment they deserve when they come home.
Dan decided to run for State Rep when the Rhode Island House shut down debate and defiantly passed the tolls scheme over 70% opposition. There was no better time to get involved, so in 2016 with no political experience Dan ran for the District 20 House seat in a very grassroots independent campaign. Dan walked for four months, knocked every door in our district at least twice, and spoke to thousands of possible voters. In the end, Dan earned 2,129 votes (over 42%) in a campaign that cost just $1,872. This result proved that real change is achievable in Warwick, and Dan has been working hard ever since to earn the majority support of our district.
